Our Commitment to Digital Safety
At Miss ICT, we are committed to providing a safe, supportive, and inclusive online learning environment for all students. This Digital Safety & Online Behaviour Code outlines our expectations and procedures to ensure positive and secure educational experiences during all online tutoring sessions.
Online Safety Standards
Platform Security
- • All tutoring sessions are conducted through secure, encrypted platforms
- • Session recordings (where applicable) are stored securely and deleted in accordance with our data retention policy
- • Students and parents will receive platform access instructions prior to each session
- • Technical support is available before and during sessions
Digital Safeguarding
- • All sessions are supervised by DBS-checked, qualified teaching professionals
- • We maintain appropriate digital boundaries between tutors and students
- • Personal contact information is never shared directly between tutors and students
- • All communication outside sessions must go through official Miss ICT channels
Student Behaviour Expectations
During Online Sessions
Students are expected to:
- • Join sessions from appropriate locations (not bedrooms where possible)
- • Maintain respectful communication with tutors and other students
- • Follow instructions regarding camera and microphone use
- • Participate constructively in learning activities
- • Report any concerns immediately to their tutor or parent/guardian
Digital Citizenship
Students must:
- • Respect intellectual property and not share or distribute session materials without permission
- • Use appropriate language and maintain professional conduct
- • Protect their own and others' privacy and personal information
- • Not record, screenshot, or share content from sessions without explicit permission
Prohibited Behaviours
The following behaviours are not permitted during any Miss ICT session:
Bullying, harassment, or discriminatory language or conduct
Sharing inappropriate content, images, or links
Attempting to disrupt sessions or interfere with other students' learning
Using sessions for non-educational purposes
Bypassing or attempting to bypass safety measures or platform controls
Parent and Guardian Responsibilities
Supervision and Support
Parents/guardians are expected to:
- • Ensure students have appropriate technology and internet connectivity
- • Provide initial setup support for younger learners
- • Remain available during sessions for students under 16 where reasonably possible
- • Monitor their child's online activity and digital wellbeing
- • Communicate any concerns or special requirements to Miss ICT staff
Technical Requirements
- • Ensure devices used are secure and have up-to-date safety software
- • Maintain appropriate privacy settings on shared devices
- • Provide a suitable learning environment free from inappropriate content or distractions
Reporting and Response Procedures
How to Report Concerns
If students, parents, or guardians have safety concerns:
Contact the tutor directly or end the session
Email dee@missict.com or call our main contact number
Contact local authorities or call 999 if immediate danger
Our Response
Miss ICT will:
- • Investigate all reported concerns promptly and thoroughly
- • Take appropriate action to ensure student safety and wellbeing
- • Communicate outcomes to relevant parties while respecting privacy
- • Review and update safety procedures as needed
Consequences and Support
Graduated Response
Discussion with student and parent/guardian, additional support provided
Formal behaviour support plan, additional supervision measures
Temporary suspension from sessions pending investigation
Permanent exclusion from Miss ICT services
Support Measures
We provide:
- • Clear guidance and reminders about expectations
- • Additional digital safety education where needed
- • Reasonable adjustments for students with SEN or EHCP requirements
- • Trauma-informed approaches to behaviour management
Data Protection and Privacy
Student Information
- • All personal data is processed in accordance with UK GDPR requirements
- • Session data is used solely for educational purposes and safeguarding
- • Parents/guardians have rights to access, correct, or delete their child's data
- • Data sharing is limited to essential educational and safeguarding purposes only
Communication Records
- • All official communications are logged and stored securely
- • Informal communications during sessions are not recorded unless safeguarding concerns arise
- • Parents/guardians can request copies of communications involving their child
Special Educational Needs Considerations
Inclusive Approach
Miss ICT recognises that students with SEN may require:
- • Modified communication expectations
- • Alternative participation methods
- • Additional processing time
- • Sensory accommodation measures
- • Flexible behaviour support strategies
Reasonable Adjustments

- • Ability to mute, remove, or restrict participants as needed

- • Chat moderation and filtering capabilities
- • Session recording capabilities for safeguarding purposes
Device and Network Safety
We recommend:
- • Use of secure, private internet connections
- • Regular software updates and security patches
- • Appropriate parental controls on devices used by younger students
- • Separate user profiles for students where possible
